I feel it's so important to use my knowledge and experience of being a mental health nurse and working in the industry for over 40 years to help advocate and educate. 

There are so many ways that the process of diagnosis or applying for the right help and services for people with autism can become confusing or frustrating, and I feel it's so important for individuals and families to have someone in their corner throughout these processes.

Services

I offer the following advocacy services to the families/carers of people with autism.
These services are free of charge and can include:

• Assistance with form filling
• In-Person advocacy at meetings
• Helping to explain autism to other family members
• Advising on any coping strategies
• Creating social stories to help with particular situations

I also offer formal pre-diagnostic and sensory assessments, there is a small charge for these formal assessments. These are very useful as evidence for professionals, when trying to access funding or appropriate services.
